Immigrants are Humans too!

The effects of immigration on America and how neoliberalism only affects middle class people was discussed in Chapter 10.  Immigration has changed the culture of the United States in multiple ways. Some examples given in the book was spanish television, magazines, food, and dance. Living in Chicago I have experienced a few of the given examples. For instance, I was waiting on the train to get home from work yesterday and seen there was a T-Mobile ad on the outside of the train in Spanish.  It was my first time experiencing that because I take the same commute to and from work and my surrounding area never have such ads.  However, I notice that the train was only traveling to places where there was a large amount of Latin Americans.  Today, immigration is an issue in America because Americans feel that immigrants are trying to take their jobs and imposing on the American culture.  There is about 41.3 immigrants in the United States.  (http://www.migrationpolicy.org/article/frequently-requested-statistics-immigrants-and-immigration-united-states) Immigrants take the jobs that Americans do not want. For instance, the hard labor jobs (landscaping). Americans should not be so hard on immigrants because they actually help out in a way. By taking the jobs that Americans do not want they help prevent the city from taxing citizens for them having to do jobs such as landscaping. Having the Latin American culture in the United States makes the country more diverse. Having a more diverse country is what leads to more people want to tour the country and states. Having more people migrate into the United States is actually helpful when it comes to making the country more money. It is horrible that immigrants have to go through so much in order to come into the United States. Everyone should be able to experience better education and job opportunities without being criticized.  However,  just like in the Neoliberalism era, today we still make living hard for Latin Americans and other cultures.

Neoliberalism only affects the middle class and it is wrong. Latin Americans produce most of America's crops and they do not reap much of the benefits (money).  Which is wrong because they spend of lot of their time growing and making food and clothes for the united States and do not get paid enough to do so.  In today's society the same situations still occur. Also the  low class citizens of Chicago take on burdens of middle class.  The state impose more taxes on low class citizens than they do middle class. High and Middle class citizens are the people who invest in the most money in politicians.   There is even inequality when it comes to living conditions. Middle class workers surrounding areas appear to look much better than the low class on the South Side of Chicago.  The lack of benefiting from producing caused unemployment.  Which connects to today’s society because when people do not get paid enough to provide for themselves and their families they have to quit, but now we have government assistance that pays people even when they are unemployed.  (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/9842492) All countries, especially the United States have to make an improvement when it comes to accepting immigrants and working through neoliberalism in order to be successfully ran.
