New Agenda: Old World

As with any society/ civilization change becomes inevitable. The Latin American world was at the tip of such a change, and change brought one of many revolutions that the old world of Latin America had. Such elements as the growth of population, the development of cities, and industrialization development created the perfect formula for this change. This was because of the transition of nationalism to Marxism and the populist looked to common people without necessarily having to be a Marxist. The war of Latin America had created the face of the middle class that was created through years of transculturation: this meant change in politics and the oligarchy embedded in it and in the society. Military officials were trying to expand their time of power: through seeming like the rest of the upcoming socialist in the Latin American political world, but they would elongate their positions by constraining their societies with regulations inspired by the ones they had when they were dictators. They strived to elongate their power even so when the economy rose. United States market at the time created a demand for agricultural products, and Latin America was able to supply their needs. As Latin America was able to supply the U.S’s need for agricultural products, the elites in Latin America would obtain large portions of the profit through corrupted laws. This economic trade created a bond between them, which caused for Latin America to share the United States fear of communism. An example of this case would be in Venezuela with their dictator Marco Perez. He was a Nationalist/ Democratic Party. He made DNP and the communist party illegal but kept his economic relation with the U.S. Such false impression of change in Latin America had given birth to individuals who saw injustice in the politicking of the elites in Latin America. Some of these individuals include people such as Che Guevaraand Fidel Castro. The governments injustices in their societies made said individuals to fight for the rights of the people. And with their change came the physical feature of the Latin American revolution. Such change is inevitable in society, juxtaposing Latin America with the United States, the United States had recovered from internal issues pertaining to the justification of slavery and different political views. Their post war state became a mirror image of what Latin America could become if they fought their injustices. Below is an image from a website called Radio Praha (http://www.radio.cz/es/rubrica/legados/el-traidor-de-praga-la-historia-del-espionaje-internacional-al-final-de-la-guerra-fria) The image shows a meeting that Fidel Castro had with Che Guevera.

As a reaction to the revolution that was occurring, elites feared the takedown of their controlled societies: such elites include military leaders and dictators that had overthrown the previous society. The revolution in countries like Peru, Cuba, and Mexico was at its prime during the late nineteen seventies. Along with Reagans political choices and individuals seeking opportunity, drug dealers and guerrillas had manifested and taken over the countries whose dictatorship had oppressed their people.
